I am in Economy Comfort (or whatever it’s called now) on the way back PHX-MSP-MKE. I got an offer to upgrade PHX-MSP in F for $299. I am tempted because the seats on this route are lie-flat and that would be nice. It’s about a three hour flight which isn’t long. As you said, this is highly subjective. I'm not particularly tall, just 5'11", and I'm not all that uncomfortable in C+, so I wouldn't pay $299 for a three hour flight. Yet, others will jump at the chance to try lie-flat seats.
