I was on one of these LAX-DFW, so didn't really get the full flavor of what this plane is like on a long haul flight I was in a row 7 window. It looked like the last row (row 8) would offer enhanced privacy since there aren't any middle seats directly across from it. Am I correct? Would galley or lav noise/traffic be an issue? I haven't found this problematic in the first row of the 788 mini-cabin (row 6), although I know some have.
I've been flying the 789 r/t LAX-GRU a few times a month since January and I've been in 4-5-6L exclusively. There is definitely galley activity behind row 8 but I notice that they have done a good job of keeping it to a minimum after meal service is over (but that's dependent on the crew, of course). While I would take 8 over 1 any day, I would also avoid it. In general the a and L seats offer an adequate amount of privacy, IMHO.
