A friend of mine is ethnic chinese but doesn't look typically so and is often mistaken for being Filipino, Malay, even Kazakh. He has lost count the number of times service staff (including FAs) warn him that a meal contains pork or is not halal; either doesn't offer him alcohol or does a double take when he asks. You can look at this as good service in a way - that someone is sensitive to a customer/passenger's likely religious belief and doesn't offer them something that is offensive or agst their beliefs.
