It’s a service industry - each FA will have an off day...not sure if any airline should be the exception
that said, few things can have happened
1) folks may complain not having their meal choice available, so one way to look at this is as receiving priority (albeit one can consider it either way)
2) it’s possible the passenger near you was a higher status SQ flyer - this is one form of discrimination that is allowed and one of the permissible perks. This happens a lot - even when with my colleague or spouse, I may get better treatment or be singled out for a greeting - now imagine this happening in business class and others being peeved. The FA doesn’t have to explain this of course.
3) Did you actually ask and were not given service? A request accompanied by a smile works wonders. This would naturally be upsetting but short of that, it’s probably nothing.
SQ premium customers are predominantly Asian (including Indians) so don’t think this counts against or in favour
