Decent advice but that means waiting until the airport when many others have already been offered buy ups at online checkin. Anyhow it’s a moot point as I’ve gone to buying the cheapest biz outright and avoiding the lottery. The CZ under $2k China-USA roundtrips are nice now as are the $2.5k Cathay flights.
