Yes, sorry, you're right of course, I meant pence not cents. We used standard uber not uber x for some days and only twice uber x so maybe that is where part of the price difference lays? My colleague did all the 'uber' ing so I can only go on what he told me, we did several journeys each day and I thought he mentioned that one being quite cheap but maybe I am wrong. I do know that they charge in Egyptian pounds then even with conversion rates to GBP it was cheap...so even with conversions, it was still ridiculously cheap for a 45 minute drive. I'm sure it was less than a single UK pound. Obviously at times the prices go up based on demand so potentially that is the difference (uber x and demand diferences with what you are seeing and what we paid that day?) However, as you say, even at £3 it was very good value for money for the distance and time (especially in uber x which in Cairo means a decent clean car with no dents or scratches!)
