I have the rules over and over, and I can't find anything that states I must have a stopover in each continent. Yet I seem to recall some sort of rule as such.

Perhaps a RTW other than STAR may be the answer? What are all your cities that you intend to visit?
But you are stopping over in Asia... KIX is in Asia so that already counts. From there you go off to Europe...
But even with the open jaw, the mileage in between HNL and KIX will still be counted!
