I ignore "legal" connection times. It's been my experience that whatever the airline considers legal isn't enough given late flights, getting from one gate to the other and (sometimes) having to go through security again. I never schedule less than a 1 hour layover on domestic and 2 on international.

Sorry I didn't answer your original question, but would you really book something that the airline considered the minimum legal time? If so, you must like to live on the edge!
