Many brokers charge substantial fees for registering shares. So the cost-effective option would be going through Society Generale. Considering the fees SG charges, and the hassle involved, it's not really worth it IMO. Especially since it's only a stop-gap solution for one year.
The ibis business card also gives Gold status and costs only GBP 65 p.a., with rates in LDCs somewhat lower.
