Indeed the prices are outrageous! I had known that I needed to travel YYZ-LHR for a couple of months, on a multi-city (return to YYZ from another city in EU). The YYZ LHR P fare alone at its lowest was ~$3850, and that did not include the return flight. Using OPM but being accountable to spend within the allotted travel budget, I kept monitoring for any price changes.

I started noticing that some of the YYZ-LHR were increasing in price on my intended day of travel, and this was still a month from the travel date. Ultimately, I booked PE (O) for YYZ-LHR / P for return from different EU city. I was able to immediately upgrade the YYZ-LHR segment. Fortunately, the timing of the outbound flight meant I had expiring eUp credits anyway. But I have since communicated to the client that we may have to alter the travel budget based on the observed price increases for TATL.
