Agreed. As an SPG AMB, I had been offered several 'not so necessary' voluntarily upgrades to Suite and wished if I could substitute for other occasions. I wonder how much do other frequent guests really appreciate Suite upgrade, only for sleeping alone.... So the idea of SNA should be good.
In the last year or so, I have received maybe 5 suite upgrades (over 150+ nights). 3 of those were at a single property. Some places give me an upgraded room, others dont.
I dont really push the issue or ask as I'm by myself for the most part and never use the extra space. Check in, put up MAGC sign and that's the extent of my requests.
one thing I do appreciate is that I have a request for a high floor as part of my profile and almost every single time, that is what I get.
