The problem in Bangkok is basically being spoiled for choice with Marriott after the merger, the only thing missing is a high-end Ritz-Carlton in my opinion (the EDITION would have partly remedied this).
If you compare Marriott to, say, IHG in Bangkok it's almost comical - IHG has the IC and the Hotel Indigo, then well below this the CP Lumpini Park. In the same segment above CP Lumpini Park where IHG has two hotels, Marriott has the St. Regis, SGS, Athenee, W, JWM, Marriott Surawongse, MMQP, Marriott Sukhumvit, Le Meridien and Le Meridien Suvarnabhumi!
