I've found CX to be very straightforward and easy to deal with on changing these fares. We initially changed our return date from JFK by a few days - all done online, USD100 change fee per person. Then just now I called to add a stopover in HKG to our return flights - done in minutes on the phone, change fee of USD100/HKD785 which was then reduced to HKD580 as a result of the taxes/fees having been reduced.
