I now have a 5 hour layover in CDG, which should be more than enough time to exit immigration, retrieve my luggage, check in with Air France, and make my way to the gate for my flight to Casablanca. This is a very wise decision. As pointed out, the MCT is 2:00 hours when you don't have recheck bags. Given that your bags would need to be rechecked at least 45 minutes to an hour before your second flight -- and after you have schlepped them by yourself from T1 to T2, a successful transfer would be very iffy. And this is especially so if you are not familiar with CDG. It takes time to determine whether you have to use the transfer bus or train -- and then to find the stop.
