My wife and I love our Starwood AMEX cards and believe they are great values. But like many people, I want it all. We have recently been charged our $30 annual fees. On other cards I have had success in calling customrer support and asking for renewal points/miles. I tried this approach with no success calling 1-800-AXP-1000. I'm looking for any success stories of people getting bonus starpoints or getting their $30 annual fee waived.

I suspect that there is a thread on this somewhere, but I could not find it. Any pointers would be appreciated.
