Was surprised to see EK charge a difference of $311 USD depending on if you leave from the US or UAE, although that's booking through their own program.
I just ticketed a couple days ago. JFK-AUH in Apartments. It was $39.70 USD per person. I originally put on hold via NZ, then transferred Marriott points to top up my AA account (remember, transfer in max increments of 20k marriott points, max 60k per transfer, to maximize the bonus), and called US center to ticket.
