Connecting on long (12-15hr) layovers at DFW to widebody planes I’ve sometimes seen my bags “loaded” almost immediately while my next plane is still many hours away from landing - seems obvious that’s a “scan when loaded in container” situation. I’ve also seen my bags not “loaded” until while I’m boarding in such layovers. So, not a consistent experience.
