Maybe highly unlikely but it happened on Feb. 10 to AA78 DFW to LHR. Bags arrived on the 1st plane the next day. And my AA app did say my baggage was "loaded on plane" right up until the time we took off from DFW. To AAs credit, the LHR gate agent did make an announcement when she met the plane and so the 20 or so of us that were affected didn't have to stand around the baggage belt waiting instead we could go straight to the lost bags counter and fill out our paper work.
