1. AA does not "give" anything. BA pays AA for access for certain of its elites. Generally-speaking, AA does not include lounge access in its domestic fares (limited exceptions not applicable here). I am fine with that.

2. You have made the choice to credit your AA flying to AA rather than BA. If you believe that the BA benefits better suit you, there is an easy fix. But, make sure you compare everything first.
