True, they didn't build the city of Seattle or the Space Needle either.
Is it possible you're missing the point a bit? They went from an unremarkable operation to a significant hub. Off the top of my head, I can't recall the last time that happened in the US (all the new hubs I can think of came from mergers and acquisitions). It's noteworthy, IMO
