Agree with asking politely whenever you would like. I also tend to unmake the bed myself unless crew spots me and offers.

Just don’t do what my friend did. His first premium cabin flight was in First so his expectations were set accordingly. I wish I’d been there to witness him in Club World on his next flight asking the crew to make his bed. I understand he got short shrift!
