Thanks Nilsman .. sounds like wise advice, and sorry to read of your experience.

No bigger seat is no big deal to the travel experience, so yes, may just leave it where it is! I was only thinking of it as a nice gesture to a good friend.

Knowing how tough BA are on point use, it will probably cost me 30,000 points or whatever to upgrade to what you describe!
