I have to agree with bigjim. No plates or glasses on the buffet and the server didn't produce a bill promptly (I thought the breakfast was free?), and people want to report this to Hilton corporate? You gotta be kidding!
Sure, the plates/glasses should've been there, but it's not like this ruins a stay or even your breakfast. Hit your local Ruby Tuesday's on a Friday night and you'll usually get worse service than this. You pointed out the missing items to the server and they brought them. What more can one expect? I'm not sure I would even bother reporting this to the hotel's management unless it seemed like a regular occurence.
I'm surprised someone hasn't suggested that you ask for an ALON award for your troubles, or at least getting the room night comped. That seems to be the usual response on FlyerTalk for issues like this.
