on a somewhat unrelated note....Mrs R was once pulled aside at a German airport when she put her carry-on through the scanner. Turns out she was coming home with a stash of proper German marzipan, and the chemical signature of the almond paste is not dissimilar to certain explosives and was picked up by the electronic sniffer thing (all sounds quite high-tech...?)
weirdly, this can't have been the first time it has happened since the staff were very quick to guess (before even opening her bag) that she might have a large quantity of marzipan in there
