I'll be earning on Qatar so that's a 6 points difference between Y and F, which can mean something to keep status at the end of the year. That equals to what I earn with 2 eco CDG-LHR tickets.
cant speak for qr, but jl and ba defo rewards for the payment at airport to upgrade. cx rewards class j the same as economy- and i dont know anyone who upgraded to F and credits to cx
