2 problems with your question
- applying for CC in general don't "generate a credit score hit" for individuals with sufficiently good credit (unless there are copious applications) but it is an inquiry.
- mailers change nothing about the fact that this is a cc application that results in an inquiry with the credit bureaus and if approved a new personal CC on your credit report.
Beyond the fact that we are using mailers, this is more general CC related type questions and are probably better asked and addressed elsewhere.
