I assume that Eurofleet and Mixedfllet will become increasingly familiar with manual demonstrations, with the screens being removed from the A320 family and the NEO’s being delivered without. On EI, for example, it is extremely rare for the Cabin Manager to read the script, they usually have it verbatim. Ryanair used to read it also, but now its pre-recorded.
As MF Main Crew, we generally do more longhaul than short. MF World Class do mostly longhaul and MF CSMs do mostly short. It’s just the way the rostering works.
They were probably reading to avoid missing anything out. It’s a CAA approved script, and you can’t miss anything out otherwise you’re not compliant.
They could also have been on leave, been part time, been on their 3 months of giving training or 3 months of recruitment.
It’s normal to read it from the iPad.
