The 284, which is the earlier flight, is a 747 and the 286 is an A380.

As to how empty it might be that's just too early to tell but I doubt there will be many empty rows in either plane. It's a very popular route for leisure and business travellers especially for the former at that time of year.

If you want a guaranteed sleep it's perhaps worth using your AA miles for business class and economy back? I can see 5 seats on BA.com for the later 286 but none for the 284. If you want them you'd be advised to snap them up as no guarantee they will appear again and im not sure what the AA website shows.

As for the best views, again that's very variable so I wouldn't like to predict that.
