Yup, ex-KTM there is a well priced AA R coded fare to most US markets (not LAX however) and I class fares published by CX that are similar in price ($1250 one way, around $2k RT). The AA fare allows an easy upgrade to F on HKG-LAX/DFW but the CX fare is more convenient if you are flying to a CX city like SEA/YVR/SFO as you can skip the LAX connection and fly directly to your home airport on CX metal. Both fares can be issued directly by the respective carriers on their apps.
