I flown TK very recently. Was initially ticketed to fly in and out of SFO but had some plans change and called in their customer service to change the flight to on the return depart from JFK. I was initially booked into Q but when the change happened I asked the agent which fare I'd get and he clearly stated E. The email confirmation (old look and feel) says E.
I got an upgrade with miles for that segment in the meantime.
I just got credited my miles equivalent to class C. Checked my physical ticket and indeed it says C. C is 1/5 of E in terms of miles.
so... Any ideas why it might have been turned into a C? I imagine nothing to do with the upgrade right?
Do I have grounds to appeal? Before doing so I'd love any thoughts on why I got this fare class anyway.
Thanks
E fare class is one of the highest Economy class fares on TK and while flying TK and crediting to Miles&Smiles so you should have gotten %100 of miles. In M&S there is no fare class that you would earn %20 of the actual distance so this seems a bit strange. If you are telling that C is the letter appearing in the mileage statement that is the code of the class that you have flown, nothing to do with the fare class.
I guess, you should contact the Miles&Smiles team and add a copy of e-ticket, upgrade confirmation and boarding pass to the claim.
