Flew my return yesterday, EWR-SIN-AMD. Everything went smoothly. Just one word of caution. If you are entering India for the second time on an eVisa, do not line up at the eVisa counter! I was travelling with 4 other friends, and it took several minutes for all of us to get turned away and get sent to the regular counters which were already starting to get full with the economy class passengers! So just head straight to the non eVisa counters.
