Exiting TPE After Passing Through Transit Control (Airside)

Hi There,

Apologies if this is a dumb or duplicated question (I did do a thread search to see if my question is already answered, but did not find anything).

Next week I am flying with Eva from VIE to BNE. The connection in TPE is quite long (16 hours), so I thought I would head into Taipei for a few hours (I might go via the Novotel for a quick nap and freshen up). I will be flying business class and will have a wheelie carry-on case with me, which I don't want to lug into the city.

I was thinking I could go through the transit procedure and then access the Infinity lounge, which the Eva website says has hand baggage storage. However once I had done that would it be possible to then proceed to immigration and exit the airport? I know that some airport layouts make this quite difficult once you are airside post-security screening.

Additionally, if I do use the Novotel for day use, I need to give an arrival time. Would 1 hour be about right for immigration queues early in the morning (my flight from Vienna arrives at around 7:30am)?

I'm looking forward to experiencing Eva and TPE for the first time and appreciate the advice of those with more knowledge of TPE.

Thanks, Shuttle
