If you bought this as 2 separate tickets then you won't have a choice, it will only be tagged to Muscat, following BA's Commercial Policy. If is one ticket - so probably a travel agent ticket - in this case I suspect you will be OK to ask for a Muscat return anyway, just say you want to clear ROP Customs there.
