When upgrading at the airport from a Japan Explorer ticket (G class) to J or F, do you get a G or a J/F ticket in the end?

I booked an HND/FUK explorer ticket and then realized I wouldn't get the needed points on QR with such fare, so I'm debating between cancelling this one to book another, or simply upgrading at the airport.
