Appreciate some expert guidance on below challenge. Would like to fly from U.S. to Canberra Australia with a stop in Riyadh Saudi Arabia on a round-the-world ticket combining QR and Qantas. QR has a great non-stop flight from DOH to Canberra that will be part of this itinerary.

The question is what's possible in terms of round trip travel between Doha and Riyadh? There are ok connections possible via Kuwait and Muscat. Would it be possible to check luggage through from the U.S. all the way to Riyadh? And, would it be possible to check luggage from Riyadh through to Canberra? Does it make a difference if multiple connections are on two difference airlines? For instance, connections through Muscat would have both flights on Oman Air; connections through Kuwait would involve multiple carriers such as Kuwait Airways and Saudia or KA and QR.

Also, would there be any issue getting boarding passes in Doha for both flights including the connecting flight to Riyadh and how about getting boarding passes in Riyadh for both flights including the one connecting through the Doha?

Search a little for a thread addressing this issue but couldn't find - if it exists would appreciate reference.
