Transporting snowshoes on Norwegian

Hi all

I am travelling LHR - OSL return in a few weeks. I need to transport a pair of 25 inch snow shoes in a carry bag. Not heavy (around 4kg) but very slightly long for the regulations (around 65cm)

We are talking about a bag like this.

Perfectly fine to buy luggage and transport in hold (i.e. this is not a question about saving money, it's about what's best to protect a relatively expensive bit of sports kit),
but wondered if anyone have any experience of whether best to check or risk carry on. If I check in will the airline treat separate to the main luggage.

Thanks!
