You will soon get the hang of it.. Basically it's about 38 flights (not bookings) to get Gold if you are doing shorter sectors in First / Business - you'll soon know your 40 and 140 times tables! If you are doing trans continental USA flights such as JFK-SFO, you would need 11 or so such flights, 5 or 6 return trips a year. If you're doing a mix of say 3 longer return trips and 9 shorter flights then you're over the line. Things like BOS-DCA-CLT gets you 160 TPs there and back, so it quickly adds up.
