CNY spending
2019- the first holiday week of CNY spending is over 1 trillion yuan. ( $149 billion) Up 8.5 % over last year,still abet of slow growth. Holiday travelers spent 1.2 billion RMB using WeChat from Feb. 4th-9th.823 million WeChat users sent or received virtual "red envelopes" stuffed with money, about a 7% increase over the holiday period a year ago. 2019 Lantern festival is Feb. 18th & the end of this years CNY. Oh- BTW- my favorite Home Plate BBQ in Beijing opens up on Feb. 20th.
