Some of my clients don't have VPN access to their corporate networks, and require direct dial-in to their private modem bank. That's the primary reason I have a second phone line in my home office today; I'd love to be able to switch it to Vonage if I can still use it for the occasional dialup connection and get acceptable performance.
If dialup does work, what sort of connect speeds are you getting?
I had the same question in June:

I got it anyway and am extremely pleased with the results. To date, I haven't needed to use dial up to a client system, but I have informed my one client that still requests this to get me a VPN account. For some reason they only give VPN accounts to execs to check their e-mail.

It's a bit like blackberries in this regard.
