this happened a couple weeks ago, GFK-MSP, and I was wondering what would happen to me if I had taken the flight (I just assumed I would get an easy upgrade).
In this case there was a cancelled GFK-MSP flight in morning, so a lot of passengers were put on the later flights, and DL subbed the bigger plane.
I never found out as the GA on an my oversold flight did not need me (missing the $1000 really bummed me out!).
