Several people tripped, and an elderly individual being assisted to the plane nearly had a very bad accident. There's a panic button or pull at the top of the escalator, which someone eventually had the presence of mind to activate.
On what airline were you departing MUC? If it was DL and this was a contract lounge, DL won't pay for access (as of a couple years ago) unless you're confirmed in D1.
