The Monday joke:
Flying today from my home airport, via AMS, to Scandinavia. All in Business. I met by chance in AMS a colleague, flying to the same destination, but in Economy.
I invited him in the lounge, and went straight to the Flying Blue counter behind the main entrance desks to ask if my Ulti business class upgrades can be used to upgrade him.
»Sorry Sir, your status is with AF, and KL doesn’t provide such free upgrades »!!! Asking a few more questions, I had to realize that the crew at the service desks in the lounge have no clue about Ultimate. An older colleague (supervisor?) joint the discussion, and she knew about Ultimate, but asked me to call the TA in France, as they are not informed about the benefits of the Ultimate status. According to her, KL doesn’t provide the same services to Ultimate, and even at the dedicated Flying Blue counter, they are not able to inform me about these benefits or to secure the interface with the Ultimate team to arrange customer requests...
Pathetic...
