BAEC vs AA - advice for someone looking to jump ship?

Hello, looking for friendly advice.

I’ve been been OW Emerald (is that the top level.) for 6 years, AA ExP for 6. Based on the West coast of the US, I fly mostly to Europe (LHR, MAD) or Asia (HND, HKG) in paid C or F. Domestic travel is almost always in paid F.

I flew 200K BIS miles last year, almost all in F or C, on paid fares.

Is is there any way I can go from AA Exp to whatever the corresponding BA level is? Is there anything like a status challenge? Am I better off with BA or AA?

Advice is welcomed. Tired f AA, aware that BAcan also be challenging.

thank you for your advice.
