You can only earn points at Sofitel stays as it states on the website:

You earn 80 Compliments Points for every 10 euros you spend at a Sofitel hotel.

You can redeem in the listed hotels. Red Roof Inn and Motel 6 do not participate in any of the Accor offering.

If you want to earn points in all Accor hotels (excluding Red Roof and Motel 6) you would need to get the Accor Favorite Guest card. It is a pay card that offers some heavy discounts on accor rack rates, the discounts are higher on the weekends, 50 percent off at Sofitels. I have one and find it worth the price but I live in France where there are an abundance of accor hotels. I have also found that the favorite guest price is not that compelling in the north american properties unlike the amazing prices I have gotten on Sofitels here in France. I only saved 10 dollars per night over a last minute special at the Sofitel NYC. However , I was upgraded to a king bed room with a very nice view. The reward checks are easy to use and you still earn points even when using them.
