If one of you has the points so that you can be booked on points, you can do that to be sure you have a seat, then get the points back once you're changed to a CP booking. If the flight is sold out when she gets CP, you can phone to get the reservation changed. Otherwise, let her book you as her companion, then cancel the points booking.
