We're not talking about trying to earn credit for the short LH leg FRA-LHR. We're talking about ORC in the event the OP is involuntarily rerouted off his presumably AA flight (marketed) LHR-JFK.

My error. I’m still between cataracts surgery and corrective lenses. AA to any airline due to an involuntary reroute is always up for ORC. I was suggesting if the OP goes to Lufti and gets rerouted, rather than going to AA for reaccommodation, no ORC would be due. So my counsel is don’t ask LH to reaccommodate at LHR, go to AA.
