The FRA-LHR segment is on Lufthansa, but all booked via AA on one ticket.

I'll only have hand baggage so not worried about through checking. My only concern is in case of IROPS on the LHR-FRA flight that causes me to misconnect in LHR. Do I have protection to get on the next AA flight?
I assume you mean the FRA-LHR flight, not the LHR-FRA flight.

As long as it's one ticket, you'll be re-booked on a later fight to JFK at no charge. Whether you would get on the next AA flight would depend on whether a seat is available.
