For my return flight, I’m flying Economy on Cathay Dragon KUL-HKG and Business HKG-JFK.

Question is, can I remove my MPC number from just the HKG-JFK leg? I want to save those points to credit to my next renewal. However I would like to get my MPC Gold privileges on the KUL-HKG flight. I’m thinking this isn’t possible but interested in hearing thoughts from other more experience flyers.

Thanks in advance, and Happy Year of the Pig!
I suggest that you ask CX reservation to remove your MPO number from KUL-HKG-JFK in advance. You can also try to remove it at the airport when you check-in for the return segments, but there have been some reports saying that the points and miles still get posted, so it is better to simply remove it from the PNR to begin with. If you have the physical GO card with you, you should be able to use J class check-in and enter the lounges. On the other hand, you would not be greeted and recognised as GO on board.
