How does this hotel compare to the Langham and the Peninsula? Specifically, how does the bar compare? I have an upcoming one-night stay and all three hotels are comparatively priced. I would obviously earn Marriott points with the Gwen stay, but not many (2,000 or so). I've stayed at the Langham before (one of my favorite hotels in North America) but I am always up for trying new properties, especially in Chicago
This questions is probably better suited for the Luxury forum but I've staid at all three so I'll chime in. I really like the Gwen and the rooms I've been upgraded to but the Langham and Peninsula are miles ahead in terms of service. The Peninsula Chicago is probably my favorite property in the city with the Langham not far behind. The bar at the Peninsula has always been packed when I've gone and we enjoyed the ambiance.
