I'm trying to book a flight from TLV-IST-JFK. I see there is an option for multi-city flights when booking cash flights but when I click award tickets, it only allows for one city pair. How do I book a free layover on an award ticket? I want to spend 23 hours in the city. There is award availability on a Monday that arrive s TLV-IST at 7pm and departs on Tuesday for JFK at 6:30pm

Also, I've read that backtracking is allowed. So this itinerary would be ok right? For fuel surcharges, I saw it is $200 for IST-JFK. would the Israel leg add on more?

Lastly, how do I book an award ticket for my wife with my miles on the flight as well?. It seems like it is only letting me book one ticket.
